About Me
Welcome. My name is Theresa and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate that has been in practice for about three years. I am also a mother to a seven year old boy, and we live with a cat and five tortoises. When I have down time, I enjoy native plant gardening and cross-stitching.
My approach as a therapist is grounded in experiential therapy, which simply means we focus not just on talking about your experiences but also on feeling them, exploring them, and working through them in real time. Whether through creative activities, movement, role play, or guided visualization, we’ll work together in ways that help you connect more deeply with your emotions and inner experiences.
Experiential therapy can be especially helpful when words alone don’t feel like enough. Sometimes, the things we’ve been through are too big, too old, or too painful to fully explain. Experiential approaches give us new tools to access and understand those parts of ourselves. They also work from a deep belief that you already hold the answers within you. By engaging both mind and body in the healing process, these therapies help you uncover your own inner wisdom. This kind of work often leads to transformational change—not just because you gain insight, but because you begin to feel and embody a new way of being that comes from within.
In our work together, you’ll never be pushed or rushed. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. I believe that healing happens not just through talking, but through experience—by safely expressing emotions, tuning into the body, and discovering your own truths. When we trust your inner knowing and give it room to emerge, powerful and lasting change becomes possible. My goal is to help you reconnect with your full self and feel more alive, empowered, and grounded in your life.
